The darkness that has been cradling me opens up and a light pierces into my vision. I blink a few times and look around at the white everything. My eyes then fall upon a mop of brown hair, plastered all over the white sheets that cover my body. She is sleeping. I push some of the hair away to see her face and smile softly as I see her face, relaxed and peaceful. I can see the bags under her eyes and the creases of worry that have lightly craved into her face. I rub her cheek lightly, and feel a tug in my chest. I am heart broken.
